Build, Remodel, & Landscape Show

We went to the 2025 Portland Build, Remodel, & Landscape Show so you don’t have to! Here’s our biggest takeaways, favorite vendors, and what we hope to get out of it for our clients.

Goals for the Show

  1. It was not as big as the Portland Home & Garden show gets, and that’s a great thing. The floor was focused on the reason for the show. Often the bigger a show gets, the more peripheral and just plain not-on-subject vendors appear like booths with vodka & tasers. If you’ve ever gone to a convention or show, you know what we mean. There’s always a “why are THEY here” booth or two, but the bigger the show, the MORE off-topic booths appear.
  2. We found a few vendors that we are really interested in! More on that below, but that made the time and effort worth it. As a general contractor, we specialize in project management, fine tile & wood work, and customer service. However, we need subcontractors for things we don’t specialize in such as blow-in insulation, concrete floor sealant finishes, or installing a pellet stove. We found vendors we think will be excellent additions to our customers’ needs.
  3. We hope to be able to deep-dive some of these vendors in the future to give you more information on what each specializes in and see if it’s the right fit for your home.

Favorite Vendor Booths

Lifetime Green Coatings was really professional, had great information, and is a really great find. They do book out for quotes a few weeks, so if it’s something you’re interested in for your home, we’ll need to consider it early in the process, but we really liked their product offerings. Non-toxic, doesn’t discolor like many other options on the market, and has enough flex not to crack at small concrete cosmetic cracks. The owner was in the booth, which from a customer service perspective gives us a thumbs up, and their google reviews are top shelf. They’re top on our revisit-list.

Murphy’s Fireplace and Stoves Inc. was another impressive booth. We asked them a few masonry questions on the spot and they had the answers immediately. We’d like to keep them under consideration. For a company that services such a large area and for so many years, some of their google & yelp reviews are bound to be a bit varied, but we’d like to see a bit higher ranking.

Spray Foam Genie were a delight to chat with. They had a fun demo, they have great reviews, and they’re an agile team. While spray foam has more specific applications, they’re a great consideration for clients looking to insulate behind lathe and plaster or other tight space constraints. This is a company we’ll be keeping a close eye on and will definitely be revisiting.

Do you have any questions for our favorite vendors above or any you’d like us to check into? Let us know and we will look into it!
